Be it the UK, US, Germany, Dubai or any other country- Punjabi dishes are everywhere. There are many restaurants which offer Punjabi food. However, nothing like making Authentic Punjabi dishes at home. Homemade Punjabi dishes are simple to cook, sumptuous and fresh! Let's take a look at 4 Authentic Punjabi dishes recipes which can easily be cooked at home. 

4 Authentic Punjabi recipes are as follows

1) Punjabi Chole

Chole is yummy. One of the most popular Punjabi recipes is that of  Punjabi Chole. It is simple to make and is high in nutritional value. It is a Punjabi famous food. So, how can we exactly make Punjabi Chole? The ingredients required to make these Punjabi recipes are:-1 cup white chickpeas soaked overnight and drained, 1 teaspoon tea powder tied in muslin cloth, 2 tablespoons oil, 1/2 cup finely chopped onions, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 tsp chopped garlic, 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger, 2 tsp chole masala, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp dried mango powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds powder, and salt to taste. To make this Punjabi famous food, combine the  Kabuli Chana, teabag, salt and enough water to cook for 3 whistles in the pressure cooker. In a pan, add the various spices one by one and cook. Finally, mix the spice masala into the chole and garnish it with fresh coriander. Chole can be served with rice or kulche. Punjabi Chole is one of the Punjabi Dishes which is high in protein, high in fibre and is high in complex carbs which help in weight loss, diabetes and cardiac illness.

2) Makki ki roti sarson ka saag

This is another healthy and tasty Punjabi recipe which can easily be made at home. The ingredients required for this Punjabi famous food are:-Sarson saag, Paalak Saag, Bathua Saag, water with a pinch of salt, Makki atta, green chilli, ginger, onions, garlic cloves, ghee, red pepper powder, garam masala, and coriander powder.For Makki ki roti: 1/2 kg Makki atta, water for kneading, and ghee.To make Sarson ka saag, take the three saags in a pressure cooker and add salt and water. Cook over low heat for 1 and 1/2 hours. Squeeze out saag and keep its water aside. Mash saag in the cooker until coarsely ground and add makki atta. Mix well. Put back the saag water along with a little fresh water and boil on a slow flame. Add ginger and green chillies and cook until the saag becomes thick. For the masala, add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, red pepper powder, garam masala and dhania until the onions become golden brown. Mix into the saag. Voila, your Sarson ka saag is ready. To make the makki ki roti, knead the makki dough until it becomes a ball. Add atta to dry it and again knead. Heat the tava and add a little ghee so that it does not stick. Make round shapes and a chakla and transfer them to a tava. Cook with ghee till golden brown. Serve your Makki ki roti Sarson ka saag hot.

3) Punjabi Kadhi Recipe

Punjabi Kadhi Recipe is one of the most popular Punjabi recipes of all time. It is ideally enjoyed with chawal or rice. The ingredients required to make Punjabi Kadhi with baked pakoras recipe are as follows:-3 cups yoghurt, 1 cup gram flour, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, Salt to taste, 1 tsp garam masala, 6 cups water, 1/4 cup oil, 1/2 tsp heeng, 2 tsp cumin seeds, and 5-6 whole red chillies. For the pakoras:- 1 cup gram flour, and 1 tsp salt. How to make it? Mix the gram flour, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and salt. Gradually add yoghurt to this mixture to form a smooth paste. For the masala, heat oil in a pan and add heeng, jeera and whole red chillies. When this splutters, add the flour and yoghurt mixture and bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat till it thickens a bit. To make the pakoras:-Preheat the oven to 200-degree celsius. Mix gram flour, 1 tsp salt and water to make a thin paste. Place silicone moulds on a baking tray and grease each one with some oil.  Put spoonfuls of mixture in the moulds and place them in the oven. Bake for 20 minutes. Add these pakoras to the khadi and serve hot.

4) Punjabi Dal Tadka

Who does not like eating dhaba style dal tadka? This Punjabi dish's name is a popular one. What you don't know is that it is super easy to make at home. Let's see how. The ingredients are a cup of arhar dal, cup chana dal, green chillies slit, tsp grated garlic, tsp grated ginger, turmeric powder, finely chopped onions, finely chopped tomatoes, oil, salt to taste, ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, whole dry red chillies, curry leaves, finely chopped ginger, finely chopped garlic, and chilli powder. To make these Punjabi Dishes: Soak both the dals in water for 30 minutes and drain. Add the dals, green chillies, garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, salt and 4 cups of water to a pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles till the dals are cooked. Mash the dals. For the masala, heat oil in a pan and cook onions on medium flame till golden brown. Add the tomatoes and cook while lightly mashing the mixture. Add the cooked dal and bring to a boil. For tempering, heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the red chillies, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and saute on a medium flame for 30 seconds. Switch off the flame, add chilli powder and pour this mixture over the dal. Apart from these Punjabi dishes, other famous Punjabi dishes which come under Punjabi Famous food are Paneer Tikka, Panjiri and Punjabi Sabji. These Punjabi dishes' names are quite popular. There are several other Punjabi Sabji recipes which are wonderful. Authentic Punjabi Recipes are cooked with the most authentic ingredients.
