What is the 2nd Dose Covid Vaccine Time Frame After The 1st Dose?

The recommended time interval or time frame of both the vaccines differs from vaccine to vaccine. For instance, second dose for the Serum Institute of India-manufactured Covishield  has been extended from four to six weeks to four to eight weeks of the first dose. As for the Covaxin (by Bharat Biotech-Indian Council of Medical Research), the 2nd dose should be taken after four to six weeks of the first dose. Both the vaccines must be taken for stronger immunity and they should be of the same vaccine types. For instance, if you have taken the first dose of Covishield, the second dose should also be of Covishield. The same applies to Covaxin doses. Hence it is important to check the 2nd dose Covid vaccine name beforehand.

What if You Miss The Second Dose?

Though there is no specific issue if you miss the second dose, it postpones the boosting of the antibodies. You can again register and get the second dose of vaccination without having to go through the first dose again. Trials have suggested that the second dose aims at achieving a high level of antibodies in the system and thus, we would strongly recommend that you not miss the second dose and get it done as per the doctor's advice.

What are the 2nd Dose Covid Vaccine Side Effects?

Another common question that bothers people nowadays is associated with the side effects they may experience after the second dose. Since the second shot produces a stronger immune system response, resultant reactions are common. These are temporary and will subside after a while. The side effects may vary from person to person as everyone has a different reaction to the vaccine. Thus, it is possible that you may not experience any symptoms. But to be aware is to be safe.
