If you’re reading this, you’re amongst the many who bravely signed up for a fitness new years resolution but somewhere doubt your ability to stick to it. You might be right -- statistically speaking only 10% actually stick to their resolutions! Don’t worry, we got your back!

Here are 10 tips coming straight from the experts at cure.fit that will help you stick to your new year resolutions!

1. Eyes on the goal!🎯

Having a clear health or fitness goal makes it easier to create a plan and stick to it. So figure out exactly what you’d like to achieve and create your own game plan.

2. Start slow, build gradually 💪

We know you’re most pumped at the start. But going all out, at once is often a recipe for disaster. So, take baby steps to meet your fitness and health goals, start slow and increase intensity when you feel you are ready. Remember, you are in it for the long run!

3. Do what you love 💙

Identify activities that you would enjoy taking up. But make sure it’s something you can do every day. If you love swimming, cycling or dance and can do it each day or alternate day, it’s perfect! Finding a sport/activity you love won’t feel like exercise and will be fun. You need just that to get hooked on to any activity!

4. Keep it close 🏡

Avoid long-distance tasks — they hardly work! Any activity that requires lots of planning & travel tends to be difficult in the long run. So choose a place that’s nearby or even within your home. Home workouts are available in plenty and if you don’t know where to start, you can begin with live classes hosted by us here.

5. Keep moving 🏃‍♂️

Stay active through your day. Keep moving more often and avoid sitting long hours. Take a short walk every few hours, stand and work for some time, get up and give your muscles a good stretch. At cure.fit, we encourage walking meetings. Yes, we walk while discussing important work stuff - with work from home this might be easier to do.

6. Snack smart 🍽

Small healthy changes done consistently have maximum impact. So, make a simple change this year — change your snack. Ditch the biscuits, namkeen or fried stuff and choose whole fruit, nuts, hummus, nut-butters. This will energise you with a boost of nutrients and impact long term health positively!

7. Meditate 🧘‍♀️

Start with practising meditation for just 5 mins a day. It helps you be happier, more peaceful, relaxed and helps fulfil your highest potential. Don’t know how to mediate or where to start? We’ve got you covered with everything you need, right here.

8. Sleep well 😴

Try to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep every day! Let go of everything at the end of the day & go into deep calm sleep. This relaxes your brain, body and charges you up for the next day. Set up a daily night time ritual for better sleep in the new year and this can include your favourite bedtime stories or meditation.

9. Love yourself 💞

Learn & practice the art of self-care and self-acceptance. Your body image is how you see yourself in the mirror or imagine yourself in your head. Research shows having good body image boosts self-esteem, confidence & motivates us to lead a healthier life. Whether it is to lose weight or feel more confident, you can start practising it right here.

10. Drink up!💧

Stay hydrated. Drink 8–10 glasses of water every day! Water helps cleanse your body inside out, promotes heart health & keeps your skin supple and hair shiny. That glowing hair & skin isn’t expensive to get.

So this new year, let's actually make it happen. If you have any questions about health, fitness, nutrition or anything that will help you stick to your resolution, feel free to drop your question in the comments below and our experts will answer your queries.

Here’s to sticking to your new year resolution!
